Have you ever volunteered to beta test a software product? In other words, you get the use of a certain software, which hopefully will be revolutionary, but you also get it first, thus, with all the bugs in it, and although it is a semi-completed project, you still get it for free. And the company usually gives you the upgraded final product at no cost, this could save you hundreds of dollars, and in trade you give them feedback to make it better.
What if life was a beta test?
Not long ago, I was reading a book by Jeff Jarvis called What Would Google Do? One of the chapters in his book was: “Life as a Beta Test.” Well, what if life really is a Beta Test and what if you lived your life as if it were? A good many people actually do, and they record all their experiences, observations, and thoughts, and kindly give it back to the world in their writings, teachings, and philosophical advice.
Many of these individuals lead very unique lifestyles, or have championed an industry, a sport, or a methodology and now they are willing to pass down all that information to the world. Indeed, more and more people are doing this as they create blogs, write articles online, and share all this information through social networking. We are literally chronicling the thoughts, ambitions, dreams, goals, and attitude of our time.
In this case, humanity is currently beta testing the information age, to see if it’s right for us, to see if this increase communication creates a more peaceful world, a more stable world, and a better life for all of humanity. Welcome to the beta test, how do you like it so far?
It is my sincere hope that you will please consider this philosophical thought, see if it makes sense to you, and then share that information with the rest of the world, just as I have shared this thought with you. Think on it, and you may e-mail me (Lance@Carwashguys.com).
