David Gerbstadt is a breath of fresh air. His art is like medicine and his spirit is pure light. If everyone could walk through a cordidor of Davids’ origianal paintings I truly believe they would be transformed in some way. Every childrens hospital should have Davids’ work draping the hallways. He has truly been chosen for a purpose even greater than David has realized as of yet. I purchased Davids’ self portrait 17 years ago and am convinced I have one of the greatest artists of our times paintings on my wall in my home. Sandy Leib in Harrisburg, PA.

This was the year of many firsts: first woman director to get and Oscar, first Oscar for Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges and Cristoph Waltz. I tend to agree with the selected winners.

My choice was “Hurt Locker” before all this recent hullabaloo about how the film was based on true events, but without permission, and the producer was e-mailing people in the academy telling them not to vote for the most stupidly expensive movie of all time (which I would agree with).

However; the movie is still great, and I assume the academy can look past the nonsense surrounding it now. You cannot guarantee this though, so if you’re in a betting pool, go with my #2 choice!

I’ll be willing to bet they don’t have any problems airing the lying propaganda from the Partnership for a Drug Free America. I find it amazing that it only took 14 years to reverse the mistake of Prohibition yet the War on Drugs has been fighting a losing battle and costing billions for almost 40.
